Our custom wood ornaments just keep getting better! One of the things I enjoy doing the most at Silver Lake Mill is designing our custom wood ornaments. Recently one of our customers came to us with a custom wood ornament design idea she wanted for her store. It involved layering the wood to show the distinctive landscape of her home town. Every so often one of our customers will bring us one of those light bulb moments that get us thinking of new products.
So we’ve been exploring ways to make our already wonderful wood ornaments dimensional. We’ve been having brainstorming sessions and then scurrying off to our computers to make our design ideas come to life. After coming up with new designs the next step is to make prototypes with our laser engraver. Whenever there is a new design being run you can find a group of us huddled around the laser engraver excitedly waiting to see the results!
We’ve come up with some great new design ideas. But our custom wood ornaments really come to life when our creative customers bring us their design concepts and ideas. Whether the artwork is to celebrate a landmark event, commemorate an historic building or one of a series of ornaments, I’m looking forward to making our new dimensional wood ornaments.
